La 7e édition des Ateliers de l’Atlas, organisée dans le cadre du Festival international du film de Marrakech (FIFM), s’est tenue du 1er au 5 décembre 2024. Cet événement, dédié à l’accompagnement des cinéastes africains, marocains et arabes, a confirmé son rôle de plateforme incontournable pour les talents émergents. Parrainée par le réalisateur américain Jeff Nichols, cette édition a récompensé plusieurs projets prometteurs.
Un programme riche et dynamique
Cette année, les Ateliers ont rassemblé 340 professionnels internationaux, accompagnant 27 projets et films venus de 13 pays. Grâce à 170 sessions, dont 78 consultations individuelles, les participants ont bénéficié de conseils d’experts en écriture, production, effets visuels, distribution, et bien plus.
Le marché de coproduction a également établi un record avec 510 rendez-vous organisés, facilitant la mise en relation entre réalisateurs, producteurs et partenaires.
Les grands gagnants de cette édition
Les Prix Atlas, dotés d’une enveloppe globale de 126 000 euros, ont récompensé neuf projets. Parmi eux :
- Aisha can’t fly away (Égypte) de Morad Mostafa, produit par Sawsan Yusuf, qui a remporté 25 000 €.
- Chronicles from the Siege (Palestine) d’Abdallah Al Khatib, produit par Salah Issaad, lauréat de 20 000 €.
- It’s a Sad and Beautiful World (Liban) de Cyril Aris, produit par Georges Schoucair, a obtenu 10 000 €.
- Bardi (Maroc) de Tala Hadid, produit par Abdelmonime El Jarib, a gagné 5 000 €.
Du côté des projets en développement :
- Princesse Ténè (Burkina Faso) de Fabien Dao, produit par Moustapha Sawadogo, a décroché 30 000 €.
- Chanceuse (Sénégal) de Linda Lô, produit par Didar Domehri, a reçu 20 000 €.
- Les projets Samir, espion malgré lui (Syrie) et Ici repose (Sénégal) ont chacun obtenu 5 000 €.
Le Prix ArteKino International a été décerné au projet Alicante (Algérie) de Lina Soualem, produit par Omar El Kadi et Nadia Turincev.
Une initiative qui porte ses fruits
Depuis leur création, les Ateliers de l’Atlas ont accompagné 152 projets, dont 60 marocains. Plusieurs films soutenus ont brillé dans des festivals internationaux, renforçant leur rôle de laboratoire d’excellence cinématographique.
En réunissant des experts, des financements et des opportunités de réseautage, les Ateliers de l’Atlas offrent une chance unique aux talents de la région MENA et d’Afrique de se faire connaître et de concrétiser leurs projets.
Cette édition confirme, une fois de plus, la capacité du Festival de Marrakech à promouvoir et soutenir la créativité cinématographique.
