L’Union européenne (UE) a annoncé l’octroi d’un prêt de 96 millions de dollars au Cameroun pour soutenir la modernisation de ses infrastructures. Ce financement, réparti sur trois ans, vise à revitaliser les infrastructures clés du pays et à renforcer son attractivité auprès des investisseurs étrangers.
La décision a été officialisée lors d’une réunion à Yaoundé, en présence de ministres camerounais et d’un représentant de l’UE. Le ministre de l’Économie camerounais, Alamine Ousmane Mey, a précisé les domaines concernés par ce financement, notamment le développement du secteur énergétique, la modernisation du réseau routier et la construction d’une ligne ferroviaire reliant le Cameroun au Tchad. Le prêt comprend également la construction d’un pont sur le fleuve Ntem, destiné à renforcer les liens entre le Cameroun et la Guinée équatoriale.
