L’ex-président sénégalais a annoncé ce dimanche 6 octobre 2024 sur le site de la télévision nationale sénégalaise son retrait en tant qu’envoyé spécial du Pacte de Paris pour les peuples et la Planète à partir du 9 octobre 2024. Dans sa lettre adressée à Emmanuel Macron, il a indiqué : «Dans ces circonstances, et pour éviter tout risque d’incompatibilité et de conflit d’intérêt, j’ai décidé de me mettre en retrait par rapport à mes activités d’envoyé spécial du Pacte de Paris pour les peuples et la planète» Le 4P qui a pour objectif principal d’éliminer la pauvreté tout en préservant la planète.
