Sous les yeux de Donald Trump, SpaceX a fait décoller mardi sa mégafusée Starship mais a dû renoncer à rattraper son premier étage avec des bras mécaniques, échouant dans cette manœuvre complexe qu’elle avait pourtant réussie le mois dernier.
Le décollage de ce sixième vol d’essai de cette fusée géante a eu lieu à 16H00 locales (22H00 GMT) depuis la base Starbase de l’entreprise, à Boca Chica au Texas.
SpaceX ambitionne d’utiliser Starship, la plus grande et plus puissante fusée du monde, pour coloniser Mars. Le développement du vaisseau est également suivi de près par la Nasa, qui compte sur lui pour ramener ses astronautes sur la Lune.
