Alors que la Côte d’Ivoire se prépare pour l’élection présidentielle d’octobre 2025, Pascal Affi N’Guessan, leader du Front Populaire Ivoirien (FPI), s’affirme comme un acteur central. Candidat désigné par son parti, l’ancien Premier ministre se positionne comme un homme de réconciliation, prêt à rassembler la gauche ivoirienne pour un retour au pouvoir. Un appel à tourner la page des mandats de Ouattara
Interrogé sur une éventuelle candidature d’Alassane Ouattara pour un quatrième mandat, Pascal Affi N’Guessan se montre ferme : « Ce serait un grand risque pour le pays. » Malgré un taux de croissance annuel supérieur à 7 %, il pointe des indicateurs sociaux en berne, comme la baisse de l’espérance de vie et une aggravation de la pauvreté. Pour lui, il est urgent d’apporter un changement radical au leadership ivoirien.
Une alliance en gestation avec Laurent Gbagbo
Pascal Affi N’Guessan annonce des avancées significatives dans sa réconciliation avec Laurent Gbagbo, ancien président et leader du PPA-CI. Les tensions entre les deux hommes ont marqué l’histoire récente de la gauche ivoirienne, mais des efforts sont en cours pour reconstruire l’unité. Une rencontre entre les deux figures est même envisagée pour formaliser cette alliance, un pas symbolique pour montrer que les divergences appartiennent au passé.
« Nous devons envoyer des signaux forts à l’opinion pour montrer que nous avons tourné la page », déclare-t-il. Ce rapprochement pourrait déboucher sur une stratégie commune pour la présidentielle : un seul candidat soutenu par les deux partis, selon des accords encore à négocier.
Une critique mesurée des autres rivaux de gauche
Affi N’Guessan reste prudent face à d’autres figures de la gauche ivoirienne, comme Charles Blé Goudé, ancien ministre de Gbagbo. Il le considère comme un potentiel rival, mais aussi comme un leader en devenir, à qui il reconnaît le temps et l’avenir devant lui. Affi se voit lui-même comme un candidat de transition, capable de faire le lien entre les générations politiques en Côte d’Ivoire.
Une vision pour la Côte d’Ivoire
Affi insiste sur sa mission : redresser le pays sur les plans social, économique et politique. Il appelle à une meilleure redistribution des richesses, une lutte contre la corruption et une véritable réconciliation nationale. À ses yeux, son leadership peut offrir une passerelle entre l’ancienne garde politique et une jeunesse en quête de changement.
« Aucun parti ne peut gagner seul aujourd’hui. C’est ensemble que nous pourrons relever les défis de la Côte d’Ivoire », conclut-il.
Avec cette stratégie de rassemblement et un discours axé sur le changement et la transition, Pascal Affi N’Guessan se positionne comme un acteur incontournable de l’élection présidentielle de 2025. L’avenir de la gauche ivoirienne pourrait bien se jouer autour de cette union entre le FPI et le PPA-CI. Mais reste à voir si ces promesses d’alliance se concrétiseront dans un paysage politique aussi dynamique que complexe.
