Le quartier d’Akouédo, situé au nord-est d’Abidjan, est bouleversé suite à la découverte tragique près de l’ancienne décharge publique.
Selon les témoignages des riverains, la découverte macabre a eu lieu vers 3 heures du matin. Les riverains ont déclaré que c´est ce dimanche, vers 3 heures, que des fœtus ont été jetés dans des sachets et des seaux. Ils précisent également que ce sont des enfants, habitués à fouiller les ordures pour collecter des objets recyclables, qui ont fait la découverte.
Suite à cela, les autorités locales ont été alertées, puis la police et la gendarmerie.
Selon le communiqué du procureur de la République près le tribunal de première instance d´Abidjan publié le dimanche 10 novembre:
Les services compétents dépêchés sur les lieux y ont retrouvé un (01) mort- né, un (01) avorton (fausse couche), dix (10) fibromes, trois (03) hernies étranglées, un (01) sac contenant plusieurs types de prélèvements biologiques de même que plusieurs fiches estampillées CHU DE TREICHVILLE » et « CHU DE YOPOUGON ».
Le Procureur de la République a indiquer qu’il ne s’agit pas de la découverte de vingt (20) bébés morts encore moins de deux-cents (200) comme certaines personnes le laissent croire dans des publications sur les réseaux sociaux.
Il a mis en garde les auteurs des fausses rumeurs sur cette affaire et a précisé qu´une enquête est en cours.
Il est important de souligner que ce n’est pas la première fois qu’une telle découverte macabre est faite à Abidjan.
En mai 2022, des corps de bébés avaient été retrouvés dans une décharge à Yopougon, une commune populaire abidjanaise.
