Le 10 octobre 2024, le Conseil constitutionnel du Sénégal a rejeté deux recours qui visaient à invalider les candidatures de Barthélémy Dias et Ousmane Sonko pour les élections législatives du 17 novembre. Les coalitions AND LIGUEY SUNU REW/AL.S et TAKKU WALLU SENEGAL cherchaient à empêcher leur participation, mais leurs demandes ont été jugées irrecevables. La loi électorale stipule que seul le Ministre des élections peut contester l’éligibilité d’un candidat, ce qui n’était pas le cas dans cette situation. Par conséquent, le Conseil a rejeté les recours. Toutefois, il n’a pas encore validé la liste finale des candidats, laissant ainsi ouverte la possibilité que les candidatures de Sonko et Dias soient réexaminées.
