À un an de l’élection présidentielle de 2025, les autorités ivoiriennes ont décidé de poursuivre en justice toute personne diffusant de fausses informations en ligne.
En 2022, la police a averti sur les réseaux sociaux que la diffusion de fausses informations peut entraîner des peines de prison. L’État de Côte d’Ivoire renforce donc les sanctions contre la diffusion de fake news, une initiative appréciée par les Ivoiriens qui croient qu’elle responsabilisera les utilisateurs d’internet et contribuera à maintenir la paix sociale.
L’État, par l’intermédiaire du ministre de la Communication et de l’Économie numérique, a lancé en août dernier une campagne de sensibilisation intitulée « En Ligne Tous Responsables ».
Cette initiative vise à encourager une utilisation responsable des réseaux sociaux face aux défis liés à la sécurité, à l’éthique et à la protection de la vie privée.
Le ministre Amadou Coulibaly a appelé les citoyens à utiliser ces plateformes pour le développement positif du pays, en promouvant l’unité et la coexistence pacifique. Il a souligné que cette stratégie n’est pas seulement un plan, mais un appel à chaque Ivoirien à participer à cette démarche de responsabilité et d’innovation.
Dans un contexte sociopolitique tendu, la désinformation représente un danger pour la stabilité sociale. Les fausses nouvelles, qu’elles concernent des événements politiques, sociaux ou sanitaires, peuvent provoquer des tensions au sein de la population.
