Trump leur a donné jusqu’au 4 juillet 2026 pour mettre en place un « plus petit gouvernement » en l’honneur du 250e anniversaire de la Déclaration d’Indépendance.
Un ministère nommé « Doge »
Le nouveau ministère, appelé en anglais « Department of Government Efficiency » (Doge), fait référence à une chienne japonaise de race shiba inu, Kabosu, connue sur Internet pour avoir inspiré de nombreux mèmes. Kabosu est aussi l’emblème du dogecoin, une cryptomonnaie qu’Elon Musk a adoptée en 2021. Musk avait annoncé un projet spatial financé en dogecoin et a brièvement utilisé l’icône du Doge comme logo de Twitter, qu’il a racheté et renommé X.
